As I said in my review of this week’s episode, Mayor Adam West really is one of the most unsung characters of Family Guy. Out of the entire cast of oddball supporting characters, I think Adam West takes the cake. I’ve found a great site devoted completely to him:
Mayor Adam West is really one of the unsung characters on Family Guy. This week’s episode opened with him shooting a pizza guy with a cat launching crossbow for bringing him Canadian bacon on his pizza, instead of actual bacon. What really makes it for me is that it’s really Adam West’s voice. Picturing him way back when on the old TV Batman and then seeing him do a show like this, is hilarious in and of itself. Needless to say I laughed pretty hard at him launching cats with a crossbow.
The main plot of the episode was Lois finding out that Chris’s school had canceled sex-ed class. Which in turn gave Lois a lot more playing time in this episode. I normally like only the big three to control the episodes: Brian, Peter, and Stewie. But, Lois did a great job. Especially when she came in dressed as Grimace for role-playing night.
Again this episode they played on the gullibility of teenagers just like they did in “Saving Private Brian,â€? with the whole Army recruiting video at the school. This week they brought in David Cross to play Reverend Kirkwood. I miss David Cross, and though his parts were funny in this episode he was extremely underused. We never saw him outside of the school. He could’ve been used much better if he would have maybe been invited over to the Griffin’s house for dinner and tie him in with Stewie and Brian’s storyline. Just to get you in the mood for tonight’s episode of Family Guy, check out this clip from last week’s episode. This was my favorite part of the whole thing…
Here’s the description of tonight’s episode for Family Guy. The episode is entitled “Pick Up Your Ears.” The description is from the List of Family Guy Episodes on Wikipedia.
Lois volunteers to teach a sex-ed class at the high school, but her honest approach upsets the parents which results with Reverend Jerry Kirkwood replacing her. Meanwhile, Meg and her new guy take an abstinence pledge, while Stewie sets a series of traps for the Tooth Fairy.
Just a side note: This list on Wikipedia is the best episode list of Family Guy anywhere. They even have every show listed that’s scheduled to play for this entire season. I’ll list them all and talk about them in another post.
Today is a wonderful day in the life of every Family Guy fan. Vol. 4 which is actually the 2nd half of season 4 (don’t ask me why they don’t put the whole season on one DVD), is out today.
Since Volumes 1-3 are pretty much all but worn out at my house, it’ll be a nice change in scenery.
I’m really looking forward to the episode “Sibling Rivalry.” When Stewie’s brother, Bertram, finally emerges from donated sperm. It’s voiced by Wallace Shawn from the Princess Bride.
Family Guy started off showing how self-aware it’s becoming with the whole opening singing bit, but with everyone falling down the stairs and Peter landing on one of the dancers, and not getting off of her.
Sadly yesterday’s episode “Whistle While Your Wife Works, didn’t work as well as it’s alliteration.
To start things off there was sort of a party get-together in the Griffin’s backyard, complete with fireworks Quagmire had smuggled in his anus. Peter creates a giant M-80 ball which he ends up blowing off all of his fingers. I like how Stewie ignored the whole thing and instead asked for more juice, “Yup, bone dry.
Stewie and Brian are really starting to take over the show, which is a good thing because they are funny. The retarded Peter stories can only go so far, before they become redundant. Last night’s episode was just that. Brian and Stewie’s story of Brian dating a dumb blond bimbo voiced by Drew Barrymore was funny. Stewie making fun of Brian for doing it was hilarious. But, the whole Peter not being able to work, so instead getting Lois to work for him, well, could’ve been completely cut out I think.
Also the cutaway bits didn’t do too much for the show overall. This episode they were pretty lackluster. Although Stewie at the retirement home playing his guitar and singing was pretty funny. But, the secret porn bunker was too long and drawn out for me. The others were pretty lame to tell the truth. Buzz Killington was the worst of them all.
This wasn’t the greatest Family Guy episode by any means. Stewie still is the bright spot of the show. When he’s making fun of Brian’s girlfriend, and when he’s acting sweet when he’s really screwing Brian over is hilarious.
Like I said before there’s no shortage of vids for Family Guy on YouTube. If you search ‘Family Guy’ you come up with 9380 results. Many of them are duplicates, but I searched and searched and I think I came up with a Top 10 (in my eyes anyway).
10. This clip is Stewie dreaming about being on MTV’s Jackass.
9. A Family Guy musical number about the “Freaking FCC.”
So, the Family Guy video game sucks? I could’ve told you that. There should just be an overarching law that says, “Video Games Should Not Be Made From Primetime Cartoons.”
I think over the years many Simpsons games have come and gone, and all the ones I’ve played have been so tedious and boring you end up quitting after you hear “Eat My Shorts” repeated the sixty-seventh time.
These types of cartoons should stick to their being cartoons. I understand when you have a franchise like The Family Guy or The Simpsons you have to milk every single dollar out of it that you can. But, why not take the higher road? Read the rest of this entry »
When not watching Family Guy, blogging about Family Guy or talking about Family Guy until he gets blue in the face, George Gonzalez, is in fact, a Family Guy. Happily trotting through life (with sometimes his own theme song playing in the background) with his two cats, wife, and almost two year old son, George makes an ass of himself to the amusement of his friends and family on a daily basis. So keep on reading on and see if you can separate this Family Guy from the Family Guy!
